Small Favors XI at The Clay Studio

This spring we had Jenny Mendes do a workshop at the ceramics league.  One part of Jenny's process is overlapping varied colors of terra sigilata. During the workshop I made a set of small bud vases. I decided to go with warm colors and used the red terra sigilata along with salmon, orange, and yellow. I loved how they turned out because the layering of colors created all these subtle color changes throughout each bud vase.

I applied to Small Favors XI, a show at The Clay Studio in Philadelphia, with two of these bud vases. Unfortunately the third one wasn't small enough for the dimension requirements of the show.

The show was on exhibit from March 25 through May 1, 2016. You can  view it online at  http://www.theclaystudio.org/exhibition/small-favors-xi

Lynne Berman, a fellow Ceramic League member who lives in Philadelphia and comes down to work in our studio during winter was also part of the show. She went to the opening reception and was sweet enough to snap some photos of my work for me.
