I'm very excited to announce that I will be in the upcoming exhibition On the Surface: Clay Decoration at Morean Arts Center in St. Peterburgs, FL. One of the best parts about being in this exhibition is the fact that my great friends and fellow UF alumni Jeffrey Sincich and Josh Stover, and our friend Cheyenne Rudolph a current UF MFA candidate are all in the exhibition as well. As soon as we found out we were all in the exhibition, we could not pass the opportunity to make the opening reception a perfectly good reason to have a mini ceramics reunion. So I'm driving up from Miami, Josh is driving up from West Palm, Jeffrey lives in town and our friend Marie Pashkevich (who graduated as Art Ed from UF but took all the ceramics classes along with us) is driving down from Gainesville. I actually haven't seen Marie in over a year since she just got back from volunteering in Africa this past year. Needless to say, this is going to be a very sweet reunion. The show will be on from January 10th to February 23, 2014. Opening reception is Jan. 10th 2014 5-8pm at Morean Arts Center, 719 Central Avenue, St. Petersburg, FL. If you get a chance you should definitely check it out. ![]() On the Surface: Clay Decoration On the Surface: Clay Decoration To coincide with the Train Station Center for Clay's Florida Heat Firing Symposium: SURFACE, the Morean showcases the work of artists who push the limits of surface decoration in ceramics.
